If your clients are asking for MARC  records, and related services such as barcoding and labelling, you’ve come to the right place.  Marc4media® records and services exceed the demands of the most discerning schools. By providing multiple access points to your content, they can also become an essential marketing tool that generates increased usage.

When we act as your MARC record supplier, we charge a set fee to catalog each resource. The records are added to the copyrighted marc4media^® database and made available to subscribers to our web services. If your schools are not subscribers to marc4media web services, there is a additional charge to you for copies of records sent to your customers. (These are usually for new sales of your products).

When labels are also requested, we configure extra fields in the MARC record to print case labels and barcode sequences that are unique to each school site. Descriptions under "MARC Services for Schools"  provide further information of what's involved in this process. There is an additional charge to print labels and send them to your customers. We log each order sent on your behalf and invoice you at the end of each month for services rendered.  In many instances, we are asked to keep track not only of the school's label requirements but also of the last barcode used for a particular order. We also liase with school districts and automation companies who ask us to request barcode ranges for each school and each order from them. This documentation and phone support is part of the MARC services we provide for distributors.

A very popular service, particularly for new school openings, is know as "Shelf-Ready Processing".  Distributors ship orders to us for labels to be attached,  and the products with the MARC database, sent onto each school.
