The catalogers at Library Conversions Limited Company established the marc4media^® system of cataloging educational media. Over fifteen years ago, we began travelling to individual schools and using cataloging-in-hand procedures to create and import each school's database. Over 300 schools and several centralized media collections later, we are specialists in cataloging non-print resources.

Our order department will fulfill any request for MARC records for non-book, educational media.  Since we catalog for educational distributors as well as for schools, and have a database of over 100,000 MARC  records, chances are we have previously cataloged your titles. If not, we will do the necessary research to create a new marc4media^® record.

If your favorite media distributor is not on our supplier list, please encourage them to contact us for cataloging services. We have a company goal to provide MARC records for all educational media products so that individual schools do not have to hunt for a needle in a haystack when it comes to ordering MARC records for these resources.

Subscription Services are the least expensive way to obtain our MARC records. Subscribers choose the records from a web shopping cart and send the file to themselves as an-e-mail attachment. Clients can download in one session or many sessions within a 2-year subscription window. Subscriptions can be renewed once the total number of records is used up.

We also provide full MARC services for schools that request barcodes and spine labels, as well as MARC records.  In this case, clients complete a Profile Form and submit a list of titles, producer/distributors, copyright dates, and ISBN's (if available).  The charges for this service are $2.75 a title.
